Actually, many people do not know what true essential oils are. In simplest terms, essential oils are the life blood of plants, and plants are really possessed. True essential oils possess the ability to heal, calm an agitated child, uplift the spirit, and just bring pleasure on a rough day.

Among the popular oils, Cinnamon and Clove were two of the most powerful oils. They both are considered anti-bacterial, and anti-infectious. Today these warming oils have the same uses. Much testing has been conducted on the two oils and their reliability has been confirmed.
As time progressed into the 18th and 19th centuries, essential oils were the medicines of that time. They were scientifically tested during the 19th century. The CHAMBERLAND, published in 1887, gave information on the antiseptic properties of essential oils. During this time, the term “aromatherapy” was brought into use by the French perfumer, Rene-Maurice Gattefosse. While working with a vat of hot lavender, Mr. Gattefosse badly burned his hand. He noticed how quinkly the burn healed without becoming infected. He published a book on Aromatherapy in the year of 1928. Soon after, another Frenchman, Jean Valnet published “Aromatherapie”. This French physician authored his book based on his use with essential oils during World War 2, while on the battlefield.
The use of essential oils here in our country has been on the rise. The general population has become aware that with price increases in insurance, good health practices are necessary. Many Americans have turned to holistic medicines such as vitamins, herbs, nutritious whole foods, and an exercise program. In recent years, essential oils have become a part of many people’s daily health regiment. These medicines of old have proven to be beneficial.
